TAKERU
game designer
Hi, I'm Takeru, I live in São Paulo, Brazil. I have always loved video games, and my dream is to deliver experiences as memorable as the ones that I had.

I graduated in Game Design at Anhembi Morumbi University (2017 - 2021), focusing my studies on game design and programming.

I have been studying and making games since 2016, and working as a professional game designer since 2019.

Rapala Fishing is a fishing mobile game. It was developed for a client while I was at Oktagon Games, working as a game designer.
In this project I designed systems, content, and balance.
Balancing the game was particularly challenging, considering the variety of fish, equipment, and how each stat for the fish and equipment interacted with each other.

The biggest challenge was visualizing the balance of the game as a whole, considering the amount of content and variables, and the interaction between them.
For this, I created a spreadsheet with a system that scores the parameters of fish compared to the player equipment. This way, I could visualize and define the difficulty of each fish, compared to both all other fish and player equipment. This also saved a lot of time on defining the difficulty progression of the game.

Cobra Kai: The Karate Kid saga continues, a 3D beat' em up game, based on the Cobra Kai series.
Here, I worked as game designer for Flux Games, in a team with over 60 people.
In this project, my focus was Combat, Systems and Level Deign.
I was responsible for designing and balancing gameplay systems, such as Critical Hit system and a robust Quest system.
I designed, implemented, and balanced all playable characters along with a wide variety of enemies and bosses, using tools developed by the engineering team. My work encompassed everything from attacks, specials, and combat parameters to enemy AI behavior, ensuring a challenging and engaging experience for players, as well as fine tuning visual effects to ensure a good game feel.

I worked closely with the engineering, animation, and VFX teams to bring combat and enemy behaviors to life.

Mini Golf Battle Royale

Mini Golf Battle Royale is a game where the player competes against 50 players to win the Crown. Players will be eliminated each round, and only one will win the crown.
In this project, I worked for Oktagon games, designing levels for multiple themes, and balancing the game's systems (equipments, stats and game physics) based on data gathered by the analytics team.
